The PL Tones of the AVCERT Repeater has been updated due to there was another local repeater with the same tones.

A new GMRS repeater "AVCERT" has been installed in Almaden Valley by Tony WQLS681 and he is making it available for CERT use.

Starting on Aug. 12th we will making the AVCERT repeater part of the weekly Tuesday net at 6:40PM. See table below for details. *Please note that AVCERT replaces TAC 21 Simplex originally in that time slot.

Do you need help setting up your radio for the AVCERT repeater?

We provide radio programming assistance for "supported" GMRS radios. These are the "supported" radios we can program.

(3) TidRadio TDH3

(4) Radioddity DB20G

(5) Baofeng UV9G (we provide support for this radio but no longer recommend)

Do you have radio questions? We can answer your radio questions at the upcoming Aug. 9th (Sat.) meeting at the Fire Museum. There will also be people available to answer any of your CERT questions at the meeting.

Other GMRS repeater updates:

(a) CERT1 - There will be an electrical power upgrade at the CERT1 repeater site on Monday Aug. 11th. The repeater will be down for several hours. It is expected to be back online for the Tuesday GMRS net on Aug. 12th. (Thank you CERT1 site owner Jim for this update.)

(b) BANDIT - For about a month, there have been problems with the BANDIT repeater. It has been temporarily moved to another site near the SJ Villages. It is operational but not as good as its best. We will provide an update in the future.
