BENEFITS OF PREPAREDNESS: Reduces fear, anxiety, and disaster impact. Helps save lives of yourself, family, and neighbors
COMMON DISASTERS: Earthquakes, Fires (including wildfires), Severe weather (flooding).
PREPARE IN ADVANCE: Identify home hazards (kitchen is high-risk), Secure furniture and install alarms (smoke, CO, gas), Gather vital documents.
FAMILY PLANNING: Set communication plans and meeting spots, emergency contacts, practice, and share your plan.
SHELTER IN PLACE: Know what to do when the air outside is harmful to health.
EVACUATION: Know your areas, escape route planning.
ACCESS & FUNCTIONAL NEEDS: Plan for your unique needs, have a "Go Bag" ready.
PET SAFETY: Pets not allowed in most shelters, Prepare a pet survival kit and care plan
SUPPLIES TO STOCK: Water, food, other supplies, and storage locations.
EMERGENCY RESPONSE: For fire, flood, or earthquake.
UTILITY SHUT-OFF (Only If Necessary): When and how to shut off gas, electricity, or water.
