The mission of the San Jose neighborhood-based CERT organizations is to prepare San Jose, California families, neighborhoods and communities for emergency events. Our focus is help using resources in the community to support it. Making them proficient in the mitigation, preparation, response and recovery from events and natural disasters.

The purpose of this Corporation is to implement and manage a Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) program that educates and trains volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact the neighborhoods of San Jose, CA. Working with the San Jose OEM providing training may include basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.

It is also a purpose of this San Jose neighborhood-based CERT to operate in a collaborative manner with other organizations sharing information about training and regional disaster risks and, as appropriate, sharing resources, providing mutual aid and equipment during an emergency. With that mission we would support and collaborate with other communities.
